After playing it today for first time I instantly reached the conclusion that Guitar Hero World Tour is by far and away the best rhythm game available on the market today, was worth the wait, Guitar Hero is way better than Rock Band. Guitar Hero delivers perfectly, in my opinion it has everything I wanted out of a guitar rhythm game: great peripherals and fun-to-play music. Jamming with Ozzy Osbourne was amazing. In general sound quality and very large and song choice is second-to-none. New and improved customizable avatar was a nice addition. Overall Guitar Hero also has superb game play options co-op, face-off, battles, and several online modes.

First of all the pros: The guitar looks pretty

The Cons: One of the worst setlists ever, only has a few good songs, drums are made of plastic foundation, drums are quiet on toms/snare LOUD on hi-hat/crash, drum sticks in box are made of balsa wood which broke after about 4-5 songs,Guitar slider gets in the way of playing, drum chart looks distant on screen, crappy star power activate, drum set blocks out my tv, footpedal absolutely HORRIBLE it is cheap material, hard to do quick taps, and has no spring-back, music studio has very few lead sounds including absolutely no acoustic that I could find.

Overall: a complete waste of money that I was so displeased with that I had to return it.

  • I have been playing guitar hero for about a year, and have played every gaame besides guiotar hero rock the 80′s. In my opinion, this game is the best. It has everything that guitar hero 3 has, and of course, much much more. I cannot compare the drums to rock bands, because I can only play on easy, but the guitar is great and the motion sensor frets under the normal ones work great. Also, you get money for doing well as well as simply getting stars, so the reward for getting 100% on a song is better than getting just 5 stars. The vocals also work flawlessly. In my opinion, this game is the best of all of the guitar hero games, and is by far the deepest.

Well when I first got Guitar Hero I liked it. The reason why I like Guitar Hero is because it was a new game, who dose it like new games? Then problems came. When ever you played it the cotroller would not let you go up. Then the button would some times jam up, so you could not play. The body of the guitar was the only thing that did not break. Another reason why i don’t like it is because it broke. Guitar Hero is a good game ,but don’t buy it. If you want to go through problems like i did go and buy it ,but if you don’t want to go through problems like I did then don’t buy.

  • I can’t believe Neversoft couldn’t come up with something better than this. I guess they saved all their money for Heidi Klum and Kobe for advertising. Character customization? Who cares. There are a lot of good songs, if you only want to play guitar. however there are a LOT more crappy songs then you’d find on Rock Band. If you have played Rock Band you will hate the band interface, have no idea how to use band star power and will have very little choice in what set lists you play. The star/streak meter and band info is WAAAAY up in the far corner which is nearly impossible to see without looking away from your fret! FORGET about good online play – that interface STINKS! You can’t see what the band leader is doing…. which is PICKING THE NEXT SETLIST! This game is a LOUSY version of Rock Band. SAVE YOUR MONEY – if you have Rock Band already, go rent it – you’ll thank me for it.

However, I play all the songs on Rock Band (and most of the songs on Guitar Hero) … Musical
